Manchester United join City in race to sign French wondered: report

Manchester United have joined Manchester City in the race to sign AS Monaco wonderkid Benoit Badiashile, according to Footmercato, translated by The Metro.

The 16-year-old is yet to sign his first professional deal, meaning that if United did win the race to sign him, he wouldn’t cost a penny, meaning there would be absolutely no risk for the Red Devils.

On top of the two Manchester clubs signalling an interest, Badiashile has been eyed by FC Barcelona too, and interest from three top European teams tells you just how much potential this young man has.

Badiashile is a defender by trade, and, as is always the case with youngsters, it’s tough to work out exactly how fast he’ll develop and grow. However, United always give youngsters the best possible chance to succeed and it’s a move that’d make so much sense for all involved.

After winning Sanchez’s signature, it doesn’t look as though United will be bringing anyone else in during this window, but I always enjoy it when we’re linked with youngsters because it’s in our DNA to give teenagers a chance. As for signing Badiashile, I’m all for a deal happening if the clubs can agree on a transfer agreement.
