With the competition for goalkeeping places at Manchester United very high, United’s young goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone, has joined Championship side Yeovil Town on a loan deal. Johnstone has penned an initial three-month long loan, but if he impresses that could easily be increased.
The keeper had an excellent season for United’s U21s before being loaned out to Wallsall towards the end of the season. He played seven times for them, and helped them to a ninth placed finish.
This is Johnstone’s fourth loan move away from Old Trafford, three of which have been in League One, but its nice to see him loaned out to a higher division. He featured for his new side for the first time on Saturday.
