Manchester United Football Club brought Eric Bailly into Old Trafford earlier in the summer, but Jose Mourinho’s intentions are clear. He isn’t done adding defensive-minded footballers to the squad, and a move for yet another has emerged today.
The Daily Express go as far as saying that Manchester United have tabled a £15million move for Gabriel Jesus, who currently plays his football for Palmeiras in his homeland of Brazil.
Interest in the 19-year-old is thought to be high, with Manchester United currently amongst the frontrunners for his signature. However, after Mourinho has made his move, it could prompt FC Barcelona to get involved with this transfer sometime soon.
Jesus is highly regarded back in Brazil, so-much-so he was included in their Copa America squad over the summer.
As is always the case with young players, there is always a huge risk involved when bringing them in. At this point in time, United have plenty of talents on their books but not so much experience – particularly in defence. So hopefully, Mourinho recognises that and turns his attention to players with more seniority.
