Manchester United legend says players should have ‘smashed’ Adam Lallana during Liverpool loss

Manchester United looked gutless in their 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last night, and after the game former player turned pundit Paul Scholes was obviously unhappy. The finer prince was damning in everything he said towards United, and wasn’t happy with their lack of fight.

“I see Lallana rolling his studs over the ball as if he’s taking the mickey. Someone tackle him. Smash him.” Scholes said.

It was absolutely horrendous to watch, particularly in that second half. At the end of the day Liverpool won the game comfortably and as the minutes ticked down, they began to showboat.

There was absolutely no passion on display from Manchester United, and not one player took it upon themselves to send a message by taking out a Liverpool player who were taking the biscuit out of our defence at every opportunity.
