Manchester United man called up to national squad after teammate suffers injury

Manchester United Football Club were pretty good today, but despite their play Jose Mourinho’s men dropped two points at home to Stoke City. Their slack finishing really cost them on the day, and that’ll have to be worked on when the international break comes to a close.

As the game wore on, we saw the rare sight of Memphis Depay taking to the field in a Premier League game as Manchester United subbed him on and gave him a few minutes to try and help his team grab a goal.

Sadly that didn’t happen, but the young winger managed to get a bit of good news this evening, as an international call-up came to fruition for the 22-year-old.

His Holland team-mate Luuk de Jong had to be withdrawn due to an injury according to reports, meaning that Depay gets the chance to further add to the 24 senior caps he already has to his name.
