The summer of 2016 was an extremely memorable one for Manchester United fans, as Jose Mourinho brought in four genuinely world class players to make the overall look of our squad much stronger. We didn’t see many outgoing players, except for young starlets leaving on loan.
However, that may be about to change in the January transfer window, with Jose Mourinho reportedly falling out with Matteo Darmian. That’s according to The Sun newspaper, who say the pair have clashed.
Darmian, 26, hasn’t played one single minute of competitive football for Manchester United so far this season, and that has led to unhappiness about his long-term future at the club which is obviously understandable.
The Italian looks set to become the first major casualty of Jose’s new regime at Old Trafford, with Juventus looking to land the versatile defender on loan in January.
Honestly, I don’t see the point in a loan move. If he isn’t part of our plans long-term, there is no point in keeping him on, and if United can find a permanent buyer then that would be the best thing to do.
It’s a real shame, because when he first joined the club he shown so much promise, but he went backwards rather quickly. Now he is in behind Antonio Valencia, and possibly Timothy Fosu-Mensah in the pecking order.
