Manchester United take on City in the derby tomorrow, with Louis van Gaal hoping to close within one point of our cross-city rivals with a victory. Anything other than a win here all-but ends our hopes of a spot in the top four, so we simply have to go for broke.
Ahead of the game, the Manchester Evening News have confirmed that Guillermo Varela is missing from the match day squad, following his awful performance against Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday – the highlight of which was the horrendous defending which led to Coutinho’s leveller.
The reasoning behind him not being in the squad isn’t public knowledge as of yet, but it doesn’t take a genius to work out that Louis van Gaal wasn’t happy with the young man, as he was subbed off at half-time of that game.
Hopefully this doing ruin his confidence, but perhaps him sitting out a couple of games wouldn’t be the worst idea.
