Manchester United’s Sergio Romero has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford recently, largely due to the form of David de Gea. However the veteran has no intention of walking away from the club anytime soon.
“Nobody has talked to me, it came out in the press (about me leaving Old Trafford) but I am focused on Man Utd.” Romero began. “In the games I have had to play for Man Utd I have proved I can do it.”
At the start of the campaign Manchester United were forced into playing Romero due to David de Gea’s future being up in the air. The Argentinian is one excellent shot-stopper, but when it came to crosses and defending the aerial ball he was nothing short of woeful.
Personally I don’t think United and Louis van Gaal see Romero as anything more than a backup, and although its nice to hear him talk about fighting for his place, he certainly is facing an uphill battle.
