Manchester United man set to miss international fixtures through injury

Manchester United Football Club have been without the services of Henrikh Mkhitaryan since the Manchester derby, after it emerged that the Armenian was in fact injured. Now, that period on the sidelines looks set to continue after a request from Jose Mourinho to his national team.

The club have sent a letter to the Armenian Football Association asking them not to call-up the 27-year-old for their upcoming fixtures, allowing him to fully recover from his injury.

Mkhitaryan is the captain of his national team and without doubt, their greatest ever player, and their manager will obviously find their European qualifying fixtures much harder now.

It is important that he is given the proper time to recover, though. If he is thrown back into action too soon it could lead to more serious injury issues, and that is clearly something that Manchester United want to avoid.

Our new signing really is an incredible footballer, and I’ve no doubt he’ll show just how good he is once he starts firing. We’ve seen glimspes of his capabilities and I’ve no doubt he’ll nail down a starting job in the team before the turn of the year.
