Manchester United were heavily criticised when they chose to bring Marouane Fellaini into Old Trafford for a huge £27.5million fee, but last season the big Belgian went some way to justifying that. He was without doubt one of Louis van Gaal’s success stories, but this season he’s gone slightly off the boil.
Recent reports have suggested that AC Milan have been eyeing the signature of Fellaini on either a loan or permanent deal, and those rumours have been fuelled further if the latest reports coming out of Italy are anything to go by.
Corriere della Sera say that Fellaini has expressed a desire to leave the Theatre of Dreams in favour of a move to the San Siro with AC Milan, in order to gain regular playing time.
He’s at that stage in his career where football week-in week-out is a must, and you could hardly blame him if he wanted out. I’m not that sure the United fans would mind either, as long as they got a decent fee for the former Eveton man.
