Manchester United ‘offered to pay’ €190m Neymar release clause

Manchester United Football Club are yet to give up hope on signing a marquee player this summer, and the latest rumour is without doubt the daftest of the lot. Reports this week have surged a big money move for Neymar is in the offing.

According to Globo, the Brazilian television network, Manchester United ‘offered to pay’ Neymar’s huge €190million release clause but didn’t submit an official bid before they were immediately knocked back by Barcelona.

Neymar is one of the best players in the world, and Manchester United clearly have a bottomless pit of money that they can delve into – but there is absolutely no chance of this move happening this summer according to Sky Sports’ Guillem Balague.

This scenario seems all too familiar this summer. It looks as though Neymar is chasing a new contract at the Camp Nou after a fantastic season last time around, and I wouldn’t be one bit surprised if he pens a new contract over the next couple of weeks.
