Manchester United are clearly plotting the pathway for their new manager over the summer, with Louis van Gaal’s days certainly looking numbered at this point in time. The latest reports coming out of France suggest that United officials met with Pep Guardiola in Paris last week.
L’Equipe say that it was a secret meeting between board members and the Spaniard, and the main topic of discussion was the Manchester United job.
We all know that Guardiola’s next destination is England and the Premier League, and at this moment in time Manchester City are favourites to land him over the summer.
However, putting the last few seasons to one side, is there a more attractive proposition than the Manchester United job for Guardiola? They have the biggest stadium, are the biggest club on the planet and are a side that traditionally fits his managerial style.
Its now up to him to decide whether he wants a ready-made team over at City, or whether he’ll challenge himself and try to turn Manchester United into contenders again.
