Manchester United could be on the brink of completing somewhat of a shock first signing under Jose Mourinho. That’s according to Spanish media outlet Cadena Ser, who say that Manchester United’s move for Eric Bailly is close to being finalised.
The Spanish media outlet add that Manchester United have offered around €30million (£24m) to land Bailly, they will face stiff competition for his signature.
Bailly’s emergence as a target for Jose Mourinho really has come out of nowhere. The young Ivorian’s name first cropped up in the media yesterday, and Sky Sports then picked up on it shortly after that.
He’s a typical Jose Mourinho defender in terms of his style of play. He’s quick, reads the game brilliantly and is a no-nonsense centre-back.
Manchester United’s intentions are clear. Jose Mourinho already knows who his transfer targets are, and he is looking to get those deals wrapped up as quickly as possible to give him as much time to work with his new players.
