Manchester United have two players nominated for the FIFPro World XI Team of the Year, and one of those is a rather obvious Angel di Maria. The other one is slightly trickier to predict, with England international Wayne Rooney making the final shortlist. The 28-year old has had an excellent start to the season for both club and country, and he’s had a fantastic calendar year.
There are fifteen nominations for each position, so the chances are Wayne Rooney probably won’t make the final XI, but Angel di Maria certainly has an excellent chance of doing so – particularly down to the Champions League final Man of the Match performance he put in whilst at Real Madrid.
Personally I thought Angel di Maria had a great shot at being nominated for the Ballon D’or final three shortlist too, but sadly that third spot went to Manuel Neuer of Bayern Munich and Germany.
Will either of these two feature in the final XI? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
