Manchester United plan to announce arrival of new manager early next week

Manchester United Football Club lifted the FA Cup last night, with Louis van Gaal delivering the first piece of silverware after the Sir Alex Ferguson era. However, just an hour after the game was finished, the BBC gave some huge breaking news about the prospect of a new manager.

The English media outlet claim that Jose Mourinho will become the Manchester United manager, and the club plan to announce a deal early next week.

Champions League football is obviously a huge factor in their decision, and the fact that Louis van Gaal couldn’t deliver that is a huge shame. At the time, the appointment of Van Gaal certainly felt like the correct manager to bring in but it hasn’t worked this year.

You have to respect the man though, as he is obviously doing his best, and clearly trying to deliver the results at Manchester United. The way his dismissal has been handled is nothing short of embarrassing by the club, and they should be ashamed.
