Manchester United plot massive £70m bid to land star striker

Manchester United and Louis van Gaal chose not to invest in the January transfer window that has just gone, with the manager opting to put his faith in youngsters. That could be about to change in the summer, with the club looking to spend big to turn their fortunes around.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are plotting a £70million bid to bring in Borussia Dortmund’s striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The man from Gabon certainly knows where the back of the net is, and there is no doubt that Louis van Gaal won’t be the only manager interested in bringing in the African Player of the Year.

The astronomical transfer fee largely comes from the fact that Aubameyang has recently signed a new deal at the Westfalonstadion, which has him tied down until 2020.

We’ve seen just how effective pace can be from the strikers recently, with both Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial proving that, and if we can add a permanent fixture with someone of the ability of Aubameyang, we could certainly be a real threat going into next season.
