Manchester United prepare January move for full-back – report

Manchester United Football Club are clearly intent on bringing new faces in come January, with Louis van Gaal looking to bolster his squad as it looks quite thin on the ground due to injuries. One area which certainly needs work is the full-back slot, and that problem could about to be solved.

According to France Football, Manchester United are contemplating a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Gregory Van der Wiel, who has found himself out of favour whilst playing for the Ligue 1 leaders.

The Dutch defender is out of contract in the summer of 2016, and France Football believe that Manchester United are keen to bring in the 27-year old on a cut-price deal.

Van der Wiel is a talented player, but he isn’t a world beater. Honestly if we moved for him it’d feel like nothing more than a stop-gap, because there is no way he could nail down a regular position in the side when everyone is fit and healthy, and playing to their full potential.
