Jose Mourinho is clearly intent on trimming down the United squad considerably this summer, and we all know his youth policy doesn’t bode well for some of the starlets at this club. He could well be about to part with two huge talents – but both don’t want a permanent transfer.
The Manchester Evening News say that both Andreas Pereira and Paddy McNair have been told that they can leave Old Trafford as they aren’t in Jose’s plans, but they want to leave on loan deals.
Pereira, from Brazil, is one of the most talented attacking midfielders we’ve seen on display for the U21s over the last couple of years, and he even got his big chance in the Capital One Cup under Louis van Gaal – scoring a cracking free-kick in the process.
Paddy McNair has also had his fair share of first-team action. The Northern Irishman had a massive part to play in Van Gaal’s debut season, but has since fizzled from the limelight.
Both need to be playing regularly in order to further their careers, and it does make sense to let them go out on loan, because if they do well, they could have something to offer United in the future.
