Manchester United Football Club could be about to let one of their most talented prospects leave this summer. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News. They say that Adnan Januzaj has been told he isn’t part of Mourinho’s plans this season.
The talented Belgian, now 21, burst onto the scene in spectacular fashion close to three years ago now, as he found the net twice on debut against Sunderland to grab United all three points.
He made a huge impression for the duration of that season, but things under Louis van Gaal didn’t quite work out for the attacking midfielder. Since then, a failed loan move at Borussia Dortmund has seen his stock fall further, and now it looks as though Mourinho isn’t convinced.
United have informed Januzaj that they could sell him on a permanent deal, but only if the right offer comes in. At this point in time, you’d imagine a loan deal is the most likely outcome, and that’s probably the best for all involved. That way he cannot come back to haunt us in the future.
