Manchester United will be planning a big summer spending spree to try and haul themselves back into contention for the Premier League title next term, and whoever the manager may be, he’ll certainly have plenty of money to spend.
According to the Independent, Manchester United and Manchester City are set to go head-to-head over the signature of two potentially world class centre-halves; Aymeric Laporte and John Stones.
I’d love to see Laporte at Old Trafford next term, but realistically, would he turn down Josep Guardiola and Manchester City to play for Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United? At this point in time I highly doubt it sadly.
John Stones would probably be a much more likely target. He has grown up in England and knows the history of our league, and he’ll understand that Manchester United are a much bigger side on the global scale. He’s also English which is an added bonus, but he wouldn’t come cheap.
