Jose Mourinho is ready to beat his former employers Chelsea to the signature of Richarlison, the Daily Mirror is claiming.
Apparently, Watford values their star man at around the £40million mark, after an amazing first-half of the Premier League campaign; although he has fizzled out somewhat recently.
Being just 20, £40million would be pretty reasonable in the modern-day market, but in all honesty, another winger is the last thing Manchester United need. They’re already more than loaded in that position, and it’d probably mean waving goodbye to one (or both) of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Richarlison is an immensely gifted individual and with top-class players around him, his game would probably go up a level. I just don’t think he’s the right fit at this point in time.
With clubs like the aforementioned Chelsea, as well as PSG and Monaco interested, it tells you everything you need to know about his insane abilities. It’s a shame he predominantly plays on the left-hand side though, as if he were an out and out right-winger, the move would make more sense. Personally, I’d love to see Willian come in…
