Manchester United are ready to part with one of their key players after just one season at the club, claims the Daily Mirror. They say that Bastian Schweinsteiger will be ditched by Jose Mourinho, due to several injuries and poor form recently.
The 31-year old cost United around £6million last summer, and made a brilliant impression at the club instantly. However his second half of the season was decimated by injuries, and now Jose Mourinho doesn’t see Schweinsteiger as a part of his plans going forward.
Mourinho is a manager that always likes to make a big statement of intent to let the dressing room know that he is the boss, and this could be exactly what is happening here.
Schweinsteiger is one of the best midfielders in the world on his day, though, and you’d imagine that the manager will have someone in mind to replace him with.
At this point in time, however, it looks as though the club are focusing on incomings, with moves for Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly well underway.
