Manchester United Football Club are having a torrid time on the field at the moment, with Jose Mourinho’s men struggling to string wins together. Next up is Swansea away, which won’t be easy either. Before that, though, we’ve been given an important transfer update.
Reports coming out of The Sun say that Manchester United have prepared a £10million severance package to relieve Bastian Schweinsteiger of his current contract – cutting all of his ties with Old Trafford and the club as a whole.
The 32-year-old midfielder clearly isn’t fancied by Jose Mourinho, but is still owed around £18million in terms of wages, with 18 months left on his contract at the Theatre of Dreams.
Obviously, United would prefer another club to come in and secure his signature rather than paying him compensation to leave, but at this point in time that doesn’t look likely at all, with the player himself not seemingly all that bothered about not playing week-in-week-out.
