Manchester United receive huge early FA Cup injury boost with superstar set to be fit

Hearts would have been in Manchester United mouths on Sunday evening, when Romelu Lukaku went down with an apparent ankle injury against Arsenal.

However, there is good news on that front, with the usually reliable Guardian reporting that the striker is winning his race to be fit for the FA Cup final.

The former Everton man has been by far and away our biggest goal threat all season long, scoring 27 times this season so far. Playing our biggest game of the season without him would have been a huge loss, and it’s great news that he’s winning his battle to be fit.

After scans, the initial timeframe regarding his return is a positive one, and with under three weeks until the showpiece event at Wembley Stadium, Lukaku will be doing all he can to get himself ready to play.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like he’ll be taking part against Brighton & Hove Albion this coming Friday night, but it does present others with an opportunity to lead the line. Who knows who’ll Jose Mourinho will opt for? But I’d love to see Marcus Rashford playing through the middle, as that is without question where his future lies.
