Manchester United have confirmed that both Nick Powell and Victor Valdes have left Old Trafford, after their contracts have expired. The pair haven’t been offered new deals, along with George Dorrington and Oliver Rathbone, who’ll have to find new clubs this summer.
It comes as no surprise to see Victor Valdes released by Manchester United. He signed on an eighteen-month contract back in January of 2015, and only made one Premier League appearance after a disagreement with Louis van Gaal.
Nick Powell is a real shame. He came to the club as one of the most exciting youngsters in the game, but a whole host of serious injuries hampered his development massively. Since then, he was never destined to succeed here unfortunately, and now he’ll have the tough job of trying to tempt a club into bringing him in.
George Dorrington, Nick Powell, Oliver Rathbone and Victor Valdes have been released by #mufc. We wish them all the best for the future.
