Manchester United send scouts to Bundesliga game to watch winger as January transfer window looms

Manchester United’s summer transfer window, and there first under Jose Mourinho certainly paid dividends with some out of this world signings. The self-proclaimed Special One made moves for four players – all of which have had a supremely positive impact thus far.

It will take time for the manager to be completely happy with his squad, and I’ve no doubts that we’ll be linked with plenty more names before the January transfer window eventually opens.

The latest whisper comes from the Daily Mail, who say Manchester United had scouts at a recent Bundesliga game. The match in question was Bayer Leverkusen taken on FC Koln, and the report goes on to add that the player of interest was winger Julian Brandt.

Brandt, 20, is a talented winger with bags of pace and plenty of skills in abundance. The Leverkusen man has already amassed 80 league appearances for the German side – showing just how much ability he has.

At 6’1, he’s unusually tall for a wide man, and that physicality will no doubt suit the Premier League if Manchester United decide to bid.

We’re at a stage where we don’t really know just how interested United are though, as they are still scouting the German international. It could come to a point where the club decide he isn’t good enough and don’t want to make a bid – but it’s good to know the club are still on the lookout for more signings who could have a positive impact.
