Jose Mourinho has already moulded the Manchester United squad considerably since his arrival this summer, bringing in huge names like Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. However, his work may not be done in terms of incomings this summer…
The usually reliable Portuguese journalist Jan Hagen has spoken out, and claimed that United had scouts at a game between AS Roma and FC Porto last night. We weren’t the only club to have scouts at the game, though, with City, Chelsea and Arsenal all there too.
AS Roma have a squad full of talent, but thinking about the areas that United need to strengthen in the most, a likely option would be Greek centre-back Kostas Manolas. They also have Radja Nainggolan on their books, and former target Kevin Strootman.
On Porto’s side of things, Ruben Neves could be a realistic target; an extremely talented midfielder. There is also Bruno Martins Indi, a great centre-back who doesn’t mind a physical battle.
At this point in time it is all speculation, and a concrete bid for any of these players may not come into fruition. It does hint that Jose isn’t 100% happy in his current squad though.
