Manchester United could well have a new manager over the summer, with Jose Mourinho thought to be amongst the favourites to land the job. Mundo Deportivo in Spain say he’s already making transfer plans, with Saul Niguez high on his list of priorities.
MD say that Manchester United are serious about landing Saul for his whopping €45million buyout clause, especially as Jose Mourinho knows him well from his time in Spain when he was manager in the Spanish capital.
The 21-year old is a player who has broken through at Atletico over the last two years, but could well be on the move as he searches for more game time.
The €45million fee certainly seems steep when you’re just buying potential, but its not often Jose Mourinho gets it wrong when he brings in young stars, and he obviously feels Manchester United need a more creative midfielder.
