Manchester United Football Club will offer a huge £52.5million to Bayern Munich for Arturo Vidal.
That’s according to La Cuarta, translated by The Sun. The report says that the Red Devils are ‘prepared to go all out’ to land Vidal, in an attempt to fight Manchester City for the Premier League title next term.
Understandably, Jose Mourinho is desperate to add some quality to his midfield, particularly with Michael Carrick retiring, while Marouane Fellaini is yet to commit to signing a new deal.
Apparently, United are going to offer the Chile star over £12million-a-year in salary, while giving Vidal the opportunity to line up alongside his countryman, Alexis Sanchez.
It’s pretty obvious that the club need reinforcements in the middle of the park, and bringing in Vidal would certainly be a good start. However, it’d only be a short-term option. This is a player who’s 30, and probably only has one or two years left at the very top.
I’d like to see Vidal at Old Trafford, but if the price that La Cuarta is quoting turns out to be true, then I can definitely see Mourinho looking elsewhere first.
