Manchester United set to offer midfielder new £120,000-a-week contract: report

Manchester United have an embarrassment of riches at their disposal as we all know, and with Jose Mourinho’s Old Trafford reign coming to the end of its first season, plans for the future have begun. According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are about to offer a huge new contract to Ander Herrera.

The report says that the 27-year-old Spain international is set to be offered a colossal £120,000-a-week contract that’ll keep him at the Theatre of Dreams for the foreseeable future, after emerging as one of the club’s most important players.

Herrera has just one-year left on his current contract, after signing for Manchester United back in 2014. Understandably, the manager is keen to tie him down to a new deal because he has been truly outstanding for us over the last few months.

I’d be delighted to see him get a new deal with a huge wage hike because he thoroughly deserves it. For some reason, Louis van Gaal didn’t play him all that often, but under Jose, Herrera has been a key figure; culminating in an out of this world performance against Chelsea at the weekend.

He’s one of a small amount of overseas footballers who just ‘get’ what Manchester United is about. You can tell he loves playing his football here, and he never takes us fans for granted which is one of the reasons why we love him so much. Get him signed up, Jose!
