Manchester United’s outgoing deals of this transfer window have been rather sizeable ones so far. Jose Mourinho has sanctioned moves away for both Morgan Schneiderlin and Memphis Depay, and now the boss could have another dilemma on his hands as the window approaches its close.
According to the Daily Mail, 31-year-old winger Ashley Young now wants to leave Manchester United; but only on a loan deal. The English winger is a popular figure at Old Trafford, but he is desperate to be playing more – with his last Premier League start coming against Swansea in November.
The report adds that there is interest from the Chinese Super League, as well as Premier League sides West Ham, West Brom, Watford, Crystal Palace and Swansea. So he’ll have plenty of options if the club decides to grant him his wish.
At the end of the day, you have to feel sorry for Young. Every time he takes to the field, he gives his absolute all for that Manchester United badge. Sadly, he’s way down the pecking order at this point in time and in all honesty, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
Perhaps a loan move, or in my opinion a permanent deal is the best solution for everyone. It’ll free up some more funds for Manchester United to invest in players who could offer more than Ashley Young does.
