Manchester United star didn’t celebrate derby day win through illness: report

Romelu Lukaku wasn’t able to join in with the derby day celebrations with his Manchester United teammates due to sickness, The Sun has revealed.

The 24-year-old has been instrumental in what has been a much-improved Premier League season for the Red Devils, but it’s fair to say that the game against City was up there amongst Lukaku’s quieter performances. This certainly could explain why.

This is the second player who was thought to be ill during the huge game at The Etihad, with news emerging that Ashley Young was also battling flu during the fixture.

More than anything, it’s a shame for a player who has been brilliant during his debut season. While his teammates were loving life, he had his head stuck down the toilet launching his ring up!

The best thing about Lukaku? He’s only going to improve as his relationship with United players get better, and I’m seriously excited to watch him play next term.

Thankfully, though, the big man is feeling fine as West Bromwich Albion prepare their visit to Old Trafford this weekend, and it’d take a brave man to bet against Lukaku notching against The Baggies this weekend.
