Manchester United star knows his Old Trafford career is over following injury: report

As we all know, Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s debut season as a Manchester United player is over. The influential Swede has suffered a horrific ligament injury, meaning he will be out of action for the foreseeable future. Now, he believes he will never play for the Old Trafford club again, as per the Daily Mirror.

It’s a real shame, but I genuinely think this was the news we were all expecting. Manchester United would be very naive to offer a 35-year-old with ligament problems a new contract, although its gutting knowing he will never play for us again.

The report from The Mirror adds that Ibrahimovic is now targeting a return to action in the MLS, and that would make a whole lot of sense considering their season tends to start in March, which is in just under twelve months time.

On the whole, Ibrahimovic has been sensational for us. He scored so many crucial goals in the big moments, including that excellent brace in the EFL Cup final at Wembley Stadium. He will be sorely missed from now until the end of this current campaign, and possibly beyond.

Wherever he ends up, I really do wish him the best of luck because coming back from such a devastating injury is not going to be easy. He seems very strong mentally though, and I’m sure he will be back at some point in the future.
