Manchester United made the move to bring in the veteran goalkeeper Sergio Romero in on a free transfer over the summer, with the Argentinian #1 thoroughly impressing at the World Cup the year before. However with David de Gea’s unexpected stay, Romero has found his game time limited.
Now, according to The Sun, Romero is ready to quit out on Manchester United after less than one season at Old Trafford. The lack of playing time is becoming an increasingly frustrating situation for the 29-year old, and is planning a move back to his homeland as River Plate seem interested in him.
Despite a couple of good performances of late, it would be best for all involved for Sergio Romero to move on. He clearly isn’t good enough to play week-in week-out here, and if thats what he wants, we’re best finding another club for him and giving one of our talented youngsters the backup role.
