Well, it looks as though Manchester United could be nearing the completion of a pretty big January transfer. According to the Manchester Evening News, Morgan Schneiderlin is expected to undergo a medical at Everton today, ahead of a permanent switch away from Old Trafford.
The report from the MEN say that the 27-year-old asked Jose Mourinho if he could leave last month, hence why he hasn’t featured in match day squads since that point. Now the ball is well and truly rolling, and the Frenchman will arrive at Finch Farm later today as he prepares to be reunited with former boss Ronald Koeman.
Although no fee has yet to be agreed, in my opinion a deal doesn’t look all that far away if the player is already heading to Merseyside to complete his medical. It certainly suggests that all parties feel confident the move will happen – and probably pretty quickly too.
At the end of the day, it’s a real shame but he just hasn’t been good enough for Manchester United. That’s a big disappointment to me because he was absolutely brilliant for Southampton before he made the move to the Theatre of Dreams. No doubt Everton will get the best out of him too…
