Luke Shaw has started this season in excellent form. An argument can be made for him being our best outfield player so far.
However, the young left-back has suffered an injury setback, according to the Manchester Evening News. The Englishman is now a doubt to take part in England’s upcoming games against Croatia and Spain.
Once again, Shaw was superb during united’s 3-2 victory over Newcastle at Old Trafford on Saturday, but it seems as though that every time the international break rolls around, another injury closely follows.
During the last break, Shaw suffered that horrific concussion, and now this latest knock will be a concern for Gareth Southgate. Where United are concerned, you’d hope that Jose Mourinho is pulling the strings in an effort to get him removed from the Three Lions’ squad – in order to get him a fortnight’s rest so he can recover well and be fully fit to take on Chelsea.
Shaw has brought an extra dimension to our attack. On so many occasions last term, Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia’s inability to get forward cost us several goal-scoring opportunities. It is no surprise that all our threat was down Shaw’s side against Newcastle, while every time the ball went down the right, we struggled to create anything.
