Manchester United Football Club will be solely focused on their Europa League clash against FC Rostov tomorrow, after being dumped out of the FA Cup in acrimonious circumstances on Monday night. Ahead of the game, there has been some news about a few players who have trained alone today.
According to The Metro, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Bastian Schweinsteiger all trained away from the rest of the group. The report says that it appears the trio are all facing a race against time to be fit for the match.
Anthony Martial, who recently missed the Chelsea game through injury, is an interesting one. It’d be brilliant if he could get himself fit for this, but more importantly, the Premier League game at the weekend – where we’ll still be without Zlatan Ibrahimovic due to a domestic ban.
Luke Shaw started the season as Mourinho’s first choice right-back, but after a couple of errors, he found himself out of the team. Since then he has been injured and hasn’t really played – although he did start the league game against AFC Bournemouth just over a week ago.
We all know the Bastian Schweinsteiger situation. The 32-year-old has only made four appearances this season, as it always felt to me like the manager just didn’t fancy him.
If I were to hazard a guess (and it’s purely that), at what is happening. I’d imagine that Mourinho isn’t planning on using any of them tomorrow. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
