Manchester United, and in particular Louis van Gaal have put plenty of faith in Jesse Lingard over the last few weeks, with the youth product certainly repaying that with some excellent performances. The 22-year old has been talking to the media, and revealed some outstanding information.
He told of when he first joined United and sat down with then manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who told him he’d be ready for first-team action at 22.
Jesse Lingard told reporters: “Sir Alex Ferguson sat me down with my dad and said I’d be ready for the first team at 22.”

Sir Alex really is an amazing judge of character and potential. Its one thing to spot a young talent, but to know exactly when he’ll be ready seems absolutely unheard of.
Lingard has been a revelation over the last few weeks. He has pace, intelligence, that defensive ability that Louis van Gaal loves – but most importantly he’s hungry to succeed. At this point in time he has to start every game for the foreseeable future, and he would certainly deserve it if he gets his name on the team sheet at the weekend.
