Manchester United have been forced into giving some youngsters more game time over recent weeks, particularly in defence due to injuries. However the lads who have come in have done extremely well, and Guillermo Varela is one of those players. He has now outlined he hopes to spend his career in Manchester.
“I love being at Manchester United and I’d love to enjoy a long career here and win everything that comes in our path.” Varela said.
He has certainly acquitted himself very well over the last few weeks, with Loius van Gaal putting faith in him after a series of injuries to our senior defenders.
At 22, its now time for him to push on and progress his game further, and he certainly should get the chance to do so. Personally I’d like to see Antonio Valencia sold in the summer, and Varela given that backup right-back slot going forward.
