Manchester United completed many key signings in the summer, but perhaps one of the most astute deals was the free transfer of Sergio Romero. The goalkeeper acted as a brilliant stand-in for David de Gea, and he has told the media just how much of a dream it is playing for United.
“Playing for MUFC is a dream & if God helps me this dream will never end. As I’ve been saying: I’ve to thank LvG for trusting me.” Romero said.
“But let me tell you, I don’t think that GK spot in MUFC is already mine. I do know that I’ve a huge support from LvG & his staff.”
Its great to see Romero’s attitude on the matter. He’s clearly ready for a fight for that number one jersey with David de Gea. The 28-year old made a solid start to the season but made a couple of key errors in the last outing against Swansea.
There aren’t many better backups in the league than the Argentine, and although David de Gea is far superior, hopefully we’ll see Romero get some outings in Europe and in the cup competitions.
