Manchester United summer transfer target confirms his intentions to leave after this season: report

Manchester United was heavily linked with a move to sign AS Monaco’s Fabinho last summer, but no deal ended up happening with the Brazilian staying in France.

However, according to The Metro, the versatile midfielder has confirmed his intentions to leave his current club at the end of this season, although the player was adamant that he hasn’t agreed a deal with any club yet.

I love Fabinho and maintain the stance that he’d be the perfect player to join Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic in the middle of the park. His energy, work rate and on-ball ability would be ideal. He seems tailor-made for Premier League football.

The fact that he plans on leaving means Monaco’s hand is forced somewhat, and they’ll have no bargaining chips to bump up the price. I just hope that United are at the front of the queue when the summer rolls around, because a whole host of clubs will be enquiring about his situation.

Not only is Fabinho an excellent midfielder, he’ll also offer an excellent outlet as a right-back, giving Jose Mourinho an alternative to Antonio Valencia.
