Alexis Sanchez is happy at Manchester United, despite his poor start to the season.
That’s according to sources close to the player, per the Manchester Evening News. Apparently, the Chilean knows he has a lot to prove at Old Trafford, and he is desperate to build upon his winning goal against Newcastle United on Saturday.
The mid-season arrival certainly didn’t help his situation, but after getting a full pre-season under his belt, he would have expected to start the 2018/19 campaign in a better fashion.
He picked up a niggling injury and the performances haven’t been good. However, he can surely kick on from here after scoring such an important goal last time out.
You don’t just lose talent and ability. Sanchez has that in abundance. His biggest selling point, without doubt, is the work ethic and energy with which he plays the game. The aforementioned report from the MEN claims that it only took coaches and his fellow players just a few days to impress his United teammates. His attitude has never once come into question.
Perhaps Sanchez should be given a run in the team through the middle. That’s where he has played his best football recently. When you couple that, with Romelu Lukaku’s poor form, surely it’s worth a shot?
