Manchester United superstar nominated for Ballon d’Or, while another key figure snubbed

Manchester United Football Club have had a poor start to the season collectively. Jose Mourinho’s side aren’t playing anywhere near as well as they should be.

However, we have to remember that this is a team still littered with world-class individuals. Today, the Ballon d’Or 30-man shortlist was revealed, with one Red Devil named on the list.

That man? Paul Pogba. The Frenchman was included on a list alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and many other brilliant footballers; most likely for his exploits for France over the summer, as he was absolutely phenomenal during the World Cup.

I just find it frustrating that he rarely repeats those displays for his club. Sure, we seen them on occasion, as he was fantastic during our comeback derby day win last season, while also being equally brilliant against Newcastle United this weekend.

However, there was one man who I believe was snubbed; David de Gea. The Spaniard is still the best goalkeeper on the planet, I don’t think it’s even a debate anymore. How the likes of Thibaut Courtois and Hugo Lloris both made the cut ahead of Big Dave is just baffling, but no doubt our #1 will go on to prove everyone wrong once again…
