Manchester United have tabled an increased, world record bid to land Paul Pogba during this summer window. That’s according to the Guardian, who say that Mourinho has put in an improved offer of £92million plus add-ons for the 23-year-old.
The French midfielder has been embroiled in this transfer saga over the last couple of weeks, with both clubs in talks with super-agent Mino Raiola about a potential Old Trafford return for Paul Pogba.
The Guardian add that if the deal does go through, Pogba will earn in excess of £11million, making him amongst the highest earners in all of world football.
United obviously want this deal to get wrapped up as quickly as possible, allowing Pogba more time to settle back into life in Manchester – but if it does happen, what a stunning piece of business this would be.
If any club can afford to pay the colossal fees being branded around by the media, it’s Manchester United. At the end of the day, this club makes it’s money by being such a huge global brand, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with spending it.
