Manchester United target William Carvalho rules out move

William Carvalho has ruled out a move away from Sporting Lisbon this summer, and he’s adamant that he’ll return to Portugal after the World Cup. The 22-year old has just penned a new deal in Lisbon, thought to be worth just €7,000 a week.

Whilst the 21-year old has just received a payrise that almost doubles his previous salary, any of the European giants could dwarf that new figure of around £5,000 a week quite easily, which could prove to be a tempter for Carvalho.

However, after extensive scouting from Manchester United, it looks as though Carvalho’s heart is set on staying in Lisbon for another season at least.

“My future is set. I’ll return to Sporting Lisbon after the World Cup,” He added. “I’m a Sporting player to 2018. Everything else is just speculations.”

His new deal does in fact run until 2018, and it is believed to have an increased buyout clause from the £37.5million figure that was on his old contract. If he has another excellent season in Portugal next year, he’ll certainly cost someone a pretty penny next summer.

  1. Personally feel we’re better off going for someone proven in a top European league rather than taking a punt on this guy anyway.
