Manchester United are readying a move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Brazilian centre-back, Marquinhos, according to French media outlet Le 10 Sport. The 20-year old has impressed in his short stint with the Ligue One champions, but the signing of David Luiz has meant regular football isn’t guaranteed.
Big things are expected from the speedy centre-half, having already acquitted himself very well on the biggest stages despite barely getting out of his teens. PSG forked out a huge £25million to lure him to their club back in 2013, so any potential suitors would be expected to pay a similar fee to acquire his services.
Manchester United want the deal to happen this month, but they are prepared to try to sign him again in the summer if they cannot make it happen in the middle of the season due to the European football thats on offer at PSG.
He’s a player I’d like to see at the club, but I still feel we have to prioritise someone with more experience than Marquinhos has. Yes, he’d be a great signing, but we’d also need someone with a few more years under his belt beside him.
