Manchester United had an excellent summer transfer window, with Louis van Gaal making some key additions to the squad over the market, whilst clearing plenty of dead wood from the squad. The club were always looking for that marquee signing, but sadly that move didn’t come to fruition.
One player they were looking at was Thomas Muller, and there were strong links with a move for the 26-year old. However today, he has come out and denied those rumours.
“And a move to MUFC? The club, as Rummenigge showed, denied it straight away, so it’s not up for discussion.” Muller said.
This move always did look rather unlikely. Muller has been born and bred in Munich and he’s playing for the team he supported as a boy. At the end of the day, there is absolutely no way Muller would leave Bavaria unless he was forced out by the club.
Yes, he and Louis van Gaal have a fantastic relationship, but however strong their off-field bond is, this move just doesn’t look likely whatsoever.
