Manchester United trio cut holidays short, set to return to training three days early to help team: report

Manchester United’s squad is looking pretty thin on the ground at this point – largely due to player’s participation in the World Cup.

However, according to ESPN, three Red Devils are set to cut their holidays short in an effort to help the team. Those three stars are Romelu Lukaku, Phil Jones and Marcus Rashford.

Lukaku, who signed from Everton just twelve months ago, had an excellent World Cup as his Belgium side finished in third place. On a personal level, he was wonderful, scoring goals, working hard, assisting his teammates – the striker showcased the lot.

English duo Marcus Rashford and Phil Jones didn’t play as frequently as Lukaku, but they were still in the mix and training daily. It shows a real dedication that these guys are putting their club football first to try and help out and no doubt manager Jose Mourinho will be mightily impressed.

This means that we may see these guys take to the field this Sunday against Bayern Munich, whereas if they didn’t get back to training early, they would have had no pre-season whatsoever. Now, they have an outside chance at starting against Leicester City on the Premier League opening day.

Fair play, lads, to us fans, this means an awful lot.
