Manchester United trying to offload superstar in £71million deal this summer, failing so far: report

Manchester United have so far failed in their attempt to offload Anthony Martial this summer. Apparently, the Red Devils are trying to sell the superstar Frenchman in a deal worth a huge £71million.

That’s according to Paris United per the Daily Express. The Old Trafford club offered Martial to big-spending Paris Saint-Germain, but the Ligue 1 giants have baulked at Jose Mourinho’s asking price. Apparently, there is interest in the player from Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus, though.

Martial’s time at the Theatre of Dreams has been on a huge downward spiral since late-January; when Alexis Sanchez arrived at the club. Game-time has been reduced, as has confidence. He looks a broken man, you can understand why he wants to leave.

However, everyone in the professional game goes through a bump in the road. This is his personal hurdle that must be overcome. Be it at Old Trafford or elsewhere, Martial must battle through rather than giving up as soon as trouble is on the horizon.

It seems as though United are ready to cash in, however, only if the price is right for them. With a year left on Martial’s deal, plus an extra twelve months if the club chooses to extend it, they aren’t really under pressure to sell; hence why they’re holding out for a colossal figure.
