It’s that time again. Transfer stories are dominating the back pages as we approach the summer, and today’s big headline comes courtesy of the Manchester Evening News, per The Express.
They say that Arturo Vidal (yes, him), is being targeted by Jose Mourinho for a summer move to Manchester United; although the Old Trafford club will have to persuade the Chile international to join.
There is a growing feeling in Germany that Vidal will be heading out the exit door following Bayern Munich acquiring the immensely talented Leon Goretzka, and personally, I’d love to see the former Juventus star at the Theatre of Dreams.
First of all, he’d bring some much-needed experience to the table. It’s vital we add a wise, older player to the mix, particularly if we’re going to lose the seniority of Michael Carrick. Don’t forget, Marouane Fellaini is looking likely to head through the exit door too…
Then you have the fact that Vidal has played alongside Paul Pogba before. They were simply stunning together, and if they could come anywhere close to replicating that form and partnership, then United fans would be in for an absolute treat.
